Silvers Rayleigh is one of those legendary figures known throughout the world of One Piece. He was a member of the Roger Pirates crew and the first person to join the crew (like Zoro Roronoa who also joined Monkey D. Luffy first), thus being Roger's closest confidant . 👨🏻🤝👨🏻
Rayleigh is considered an extremely powerful character who also possesses great authority , thanks to being the first commander of the Rogers Pirates. He had the greatest adventure with Gol D. Roger, however, most of the details of his past remain unknown. Nonetheless, Eiichiro Oda gave fans a good amount of information about the legend that is Rayleigh.

Silvers Rayleigh is a character that fans were first introduced to in the Sabaody Archipelago, where he sold himself into slavery . This is what happened in chapter 500 of Eiichiro Oda's manga.
Interestingly, Rayleigh had already made her story debut way before this, in One Piece Chapter 19, specifically in Buggy's flashback during the Orange Town story arc .

Silvers Rayleigh is one of the few pirates in the world of One Piece to have two major epithets. "The Right Hand of the Pirate Lord" 👑 is the first, and it comes from the fact that he is the second greatest figure among the pirates in Roger's crew.
More importantly, he is also known as "The Dark Lord" , which is the epithet usually used with his name. It's unclear what exactly earned him this name, but the whole world is awed by the mere mention of his name.
6. The Dark Lord is the oldest legend
Of the legendary pirates of old like Whitebeard, Gol D. Roger and Rayleigh himself, he is known to be the oldest of the lot . Currently, Silvers Rayleigh is 78 years old, and if the Pirate King, Gol D. Roger, had been alive, he would have been 77 years old.
Whitebeard died two years before the current timeline, at the age of 72, meaning he was the youngest of the lot and would have been 74 had he been alive. Shiki, another legend from the old days, is alive, however, his exact age remains unknown 🤔.
5. Rayleigh's wife is none other than Shakky
Silvers Rayleigh is a married man 💍, much to the surprise of most One Piece fans. As seen several times in the series, Rayleigh lives with Shakky , another former pirate and possible member of the Rocks crew.
They are also business partners and are said to be great “friends”. Additionally, Shakky knows exactly how powerful Rayleigh is and was convinced that he was around 100 times stronger than all the supernovas in the Sabaody Archipelago two years before the time jump .
4. His bonus is still active
Rayleigh was the Pirate King's right-hand man for a time, but after the crew disbanded, he gave up being a pirate 🏴☠️ . Often a hacker's bounty is retracted after he quits and goes into hiding for years, however, with Rayleigh this is not the case.
Although Rayleigh hasn't been a pirate for decades, Rayleigh's bounty is still active and, according to Kizaru, it won't be removed anytime soon ☠, because the crimes known to Roger's pirates can't just disappear.
3. The Dark Lord is an advanced Haki user
Rayleigh is one of the strongest characters in the entire world of One Piece and since he doesn't have a Devil Fruit 🥥, he relies on using Haki in battle. In fact, he was the one who taught Monkey D. Luffy the use of Haki .
His use of Armament Haki is quite high and the prowess he has shown in his use of Kings Haki has been compared by Eiichiro Oda to that of Shanks himself .

Silvers Rayleigh is an exceptional man and the Pirate Empress, Boa Hancock, agrees. After being rescued by Fisher Tiger, Hancock and her two sisters were rescued by Rayleigh and Gloriosa , who were then living on the Sabaody Archipelago.
The group took them in and sheltered them, then sent them to the Amazon, to Amazon Lily. Hancock respects Rayleigh a lot and even allowed her to stay on Amazon Lily, an island forbidden to men ⛔ .
1. Rayleigh's Weapon
Rayleigh is an incredible swordsman, swords seem to be his weapon of choice. In his fight against Kizaru ✨, Rayleigh managed to completely stop the admiral in his tracks and even injure him, despite his age and his form, which is in decline.
In his youth, Rayleigh was a user of the 2-Sword Style fighting technique. He was first seen during Buggy's flashback, and later, during Oden's flashback , when he fought the Whitebeard Pirates on the Grand Line.
