Descendant Yuki's Horrible Childhood
The story of the heir of the Yuki clan begins in a small village in the Land of Water, where it is constantly snowing. In this place torn by bloody wars, people with hereditary gifts were not viewed favorably. The inhabitants of the time were busy annihilating the existence of these users deemed dangerous, in order to prevent a new war.
It is while having fun that young Haku discovers that he is gifted at manipulating water in several states. He was going to show the feat to his mother who, panicking, forbade him to show it to anyone else. His father having witnessed the scene, first murdered his wife, before wanting to kill his son who fell unconscious.
After waking up, Haku found that he had just killed his father, by impaling him with ice spikes. He ran away from home, then became a vagabond who ate in trash cans. While on a bridge, Haku was found by the legendary Zabuza who took him in as a bodyguard.
Ninja Mercenary Appearance
Haku is a teenage character with an androgynous appearance, so much so that he caused confusion in Naruto's mind. Indeed, he had complimented her as "prettier than Sakura", despite the fact that Haku was a boy. Haku has a slim build and pale skin, large brown eyes and long black hair. 👩🦱
The combat outfit worn by Haku is a striped, knee-length tunic, typical of kirigakure ninjas. He added above it, a green haori and around his waist, a brown belt was wrapped twice. Haku possesses incredible speed which allows him to act without his opponents making a move. It is put into practice, when Haku manages to disarm Zōri and Waraji in a single blink of an eye. During their confrontation with Team 7, Zabuza was shocked to see that Sasuke surpassed Haku in terms of speed.
When Haku uses his secret technique "Demonic Ice Mirrors", his speed takes to a whole new level. He then became so fast that he forced Sasuke to awaken his sharingan to have the chance to retaliate against the attacks. Just like his sensei, Haku is capable of using "silent killing" to kill the enemy when visibility is zero.
He possesses great physical strength, as he was able to carry Zabuza's body without losing speed. A slight taijutsu skill is seen, when he easily stops a combo kick from Gai and Lee. Haku is a descendant of the Yuki clan, renowned for their hereditary gift linked to ice (Hyôton). This kekkei genkai emerges after the combination of two elemental affinities: water (suiton) and wind (futon). Thanks to this hereditary gift, the mercenary ninja was able to use his special ice mirror technique. 🧊
This is manifested by the appearance of mirrors around his target, in which Haku travels to carry out his attacks. During his childhood, he was able to unconsciously use giant ice spikes to kill his father. Continuing in the anime manga, we learn that he can create a dome of ice to protect himself.

It all started when Gatō offered a contract to Zabuza, Haku's companion. Their objective was to assassinate the architect Tazuna, who was preventing the businessman from carrying out his plans. Likewise, Team 7, made up of Naruto, Sasuke, Sakura and Kakashi, had the special mission of protecting the architect. 💨
A bloody fight that occurs in the land of waves, between the Konoha ninja team and that of the duo. However, this meeting was at the origin of the philosophy of the hero, Naruto Uzumaki. That of always believing in your nindô .
The beginning in the land of waves
A first confrontation is announced between Kakashi and Zabuza during which the mercenary is losing. About to be killed by Kakashi, Zabuza collapses and an Oinin (hunter of kiri deserters) appears. He explains to Kakashi that he was on the trail of the demon Zabuza and that he now had to bring him back to Kiri.
This turns out to be a ruse because the famous deserter hunter is actually Haku. He used his acupuncture to cause Zabuza's artificial death. He brought Zabuza back to their lair, where he took it upon himself to protect him from Gatō's men who had come to assassinate him. Haku will then go into the forest to look for medicinal plants to treat his companion. It was at this moment that he saw Naruto again, sound asleep after his training. 💤
His chance meeting with Naruto Uzumaki
Although he was capable of killing him right now, Haku just woke him up. It was impossible for Naruto to recognize Haku, because he wore a mask during their first meeting. Naruto also joined his comrade, and found himself trapped in the ice mirrors. Thanks to his sharingan , Sasuke was able to keep up with Haku's repeated attacks, while protecting Naruto. Tired, he collapsed after receiving multiple needles on specific points which made him appear dead.
Seeing Sasuke's inert body, Naruto was overcome by anger, releasing the colossal chakra of the fox demon. He managed to destroy the ice mirrors and deliver a blow that shattered Haku's mask. The mercenary's face being exposed, Naruto having recognized him, managed to regain his calm to avoid killing him. 💥
Haku's death
Once defeated, Haku knew he no longer had any use for Zabuza. He then asked Naruto to feel no pity, and to kill him because after all, he had killed Sasuke. The blond, although reluctant to this idea, finally decided to do it. However, Haku stopped the attack after feeling that his master was in danger, and that he needed to help him. Indeed, Kakashi having dominated throughout his fight against Zabuza, was preparing to kill him. To the amazement of the two ninjas, it was Haku who intervened to receive Kakashi's slaying lightning right in the heart.
Haku's sacrificial action was accompanied by a final counterattack, he asking Zabuza to slash him with Kakashi. Unfortunately, the copy ninja manages to escape and subsequently, we learn of Sasuke's awakening. Zabuza faced with death, asserted that despite his desire to transform Haku into a heartless ninja, he remained pure. 💀
Haku Yuki's appearance in the second part
Known to be an extremely powerful ninja, Haku was reincarnated by Edo Tensei during the Fourth Great War. He will thus be part of Kabuto's army, facing the ninja alliance. He will form a kekkei genkai user team, with Pakura, Gari and Toroi.
Reunions during the Great War
Each of them took a different direction and during a discussion with Zabuza, Haku understood that they were being manipulated. The alliance's ambush division attacked the group with explosive rounds, but to no avail. Haku protected himself and his companion with an ice shield before they realized their immortality .
Subsequently, Haku brought down the ambush unit consisting of Omoi, Sai and Zaji from the air. The group of ninjas then attacked the trio, but were defeated by Kakashi and his division. Having recognized Sakura, Zabuza asked about the others, especially Naruto.
Kakashi revealed that it was thanks to their fight that Naruto became a great ninja, a hero for his village. That after their death, he had made a promise to never abandon his nindô, whatever happened. Haku was happy to learn of Naruto's success, before his consciousness was erased. 💨
A new confrontation
During his unconsciousness, Haku begged Kakashi to kill him as he had failed as a tool for Zabuza. Kakashi told him the opposite, that he had actually succeeded because it was by wanting to avenge him that Zabuza died. The copy ninja added that Zabuza considered Yuki a special person, not an object.
Haku in tears thanked Zabuza deep inside before literally losing his consciousness. Just like the others, he launched into battle causing great damage within the alliance. However, the shinobis regained the advantage, after the arrival of Gai Maito and Rock Lee.
After summoning the 7 legendary swordsmen of the mist, Haku used his mirrors and a new massacre ensued. We will see Kakashi wanting to kill Zabuza with his lightning slayer, but Haku intervenes again, like at the beginning. Haku was immobilized by Ensui Nara, before being sealed by Maki.
Unpublished anecdotes about Haku Yuki

- Haku's mother is a descendant of the Yuki clan. It is therefore from this that the hereditary power of the young boy comes. "Yuki" means "snow", and it is a direct reference to their manipulation of ice.
- Haku's name means "white" , referring to the character's pure character. Moreover, in the first part, Kakashi told his disciples that Haku's qualities were like snow.
- Haku at the beginning of the work, held 8th place in the shonen jump popularity ranking. Just after his death, he was ousted from the top 10 due to his weak appearances. In the last poll (seventh), he is 12th.
