Kimimaro Kaguya, the fifth member of the Oto ninja group, is one of the many antagonists of the Naruto series who is subservient to Orochimaru . The only survivor of the "battle-loving" Kaguya clan, Kimimaro has an exceptional Kekkei Genkai which allows him to manipulate his bone structure as he wishes during fights, and makes his bones stronger than steel.🦴 In the Japanese version, he is played by Toshiyuki Morikawa and Makoto Tsumura as a child. In the English-dubbed version, he was voiced by Keith Silverstein and Kari Wahlgren when he was a child.
History
Past of Kimimaro
Kimimaro was born into the Kaguya clan, a clan of battle-hungry barbarian warriors . He was one of the few Kaguya to possess the power of Shikotsumyaku, allowing him to manipulate his bones. 🦴 Kimimaro's father, the patriarch of the clan, feared him for these abilities, keeping him locked in a cage unless he was needed to fight in a complicated battle.
At one point, the Kaguya clan attacked Kiri Village, but they underestimated their defenses and were wiped out, leaving Kimimaro as the clan's sole survivor .
Kimimaro and Orochimaru
He wandered until he was found by Orochimaru, becoming one of his most loyal disciples, determined to see his master's goals come true. Kimimaro was even willing to give his body for Orochimaru to inhabit if he needed it during his next molt. He eventually met Jūgo , with whom he bonded and they became friends.🤜🏻🤛🏻 Later, Kimimaro let Orochimaru brand him with the cursed seal he had created and even convinced Jūgo to become a subject trial, in order to face his rage.
Kimimaro managed to defeat the 4 sound ninjas on his own with his new powers and was named leader of the group, 👨🏻✈️ which was later named theOto Quartet . However, Kimimaro falls victim to an illness that significantly affects his health and therefore his usefulness to Orochimaru.
Chunnin Exam Arc
Kimimaro made an appearance in the Chunnin Exam as he helped Orochimaru kill a group of shinobi from Kusa Village, allowing his master to pose asShiore.🎭 But afterwards, he coughed up blood , although he chose to ignore it. However, when Kimimaro helped kill the Fourth Kazekage and his bodyguards, his illness began to affect him dramatically, forcing him to be repatriated to Oto for rehab. placed under intensive medical care in order to keep him alive
Sasuke's Pursuit Arc.
When Kimimaro learned that he was now useless, he started crying because he was therefore unable to serve Orochimaru.😭 But after the sound ninjas took too long to capture Sasuke Uchiha, Kabuto Yakushi manipulated Kimimaro so that he can go get it for him. Despite the fact that he was obviously going to die in this attempt, Kimimaro vowed to succeed, as it was the only way he could serve Orochimaru.
Before leaving, he decided to consult Jūgo, who protested that he could not go on the mission, due to his health.🧬 However, Kimimaro declared that bringing Sasuke back was his mission, his legacy, before to thank Jūgo for being his friend and leaving. He managed to find Tayuya with the jar Sasuke was in and ordered her to kill some of the Konoha ninja pursuing Sasuke, threatening to kill her if she refused. Kimimaro then picked up Sasuke and when Naruto tried to fight him, he was able to push him away long enough for Sasuke to get out of his jar and get away.
Kimimaro vs Rock Lee
Kimimaro then tried to kill Naruto, but before he could do so, he was attacked by Rock Lee who arrived as a hero.🦸♂️ He began to take more interest in this fight and took some took part. He tried to intercept Naruto when he went after Sasuke, but Lee stopped him and continued to fight him so Naruto could pursue Sasuke. At first, Kimimaro was easily able to outplay Lee, although the latter began to win by using Drunken Fist, a fighting style imitating the gestures of a drunk person , Kimimaro was unable to cope with his unpredictable attacks and been struck down.
However, he activated the first stage of his cursed mark and slashed Lee's face, snapping him out of his drunken state. Kimimaro took the opportunity again to launch a stealth attack. But Lee got back on his feet and Kimimaro finally tried to kill him, but Gaara intervened at the right time, he stopped an attack that could have been fatal to our Taijutsu expert.🥋
Kimimaro vs Gaara
The two ninjas began to fight and Kimimaro noted that Shukaku's jinchuriki was a powerful opponent thanks to his sand manipulation and strong defense.🛡 He came to the conclusion that Gaara was not good at fighting close because it made it difficult to approach and kept a distance. Kimimaro began firing bone projectiles, knuckles to be precise, at Gaara. While dodging his attacks, he noticed that since all of his attacks used sand, it was never wise for him to fight in an area where there was no sand.
However, Gaara managed to distract Kimimaro and trapped his feet. Kimimaro was then crushed by a huge wave of sand from Gaara🌊, but Orochimaru's disciple does not let himself be fooled so easily . He created a layer of bone beneath his flesh to protect himself. Kimimaro then activated the first stage of his Cursed Seal and escaped from the sand, saying that he had underestimated Gaara, but that he would not do it again. However, Gaara then created a tidal wave of sand, which Kimimaro was unable to escape and was buried in. Surviving an attempt by Gaara to crush him again, Kimimaro released the second evolution of his Cursed Seal , thus awakening his ultimate form and retreated from the sand. Kimimaro then attacked the jinchuriki, who blocked it with his Sand Armor. Kimimaro then used his Clematis Dance attack against Gaara, who managed to defend himself with his Shukaku Shield technique.👹
Desert Gaara questioned Kimimaro's loyalty to Orochimaru, angering him and causing him to lose focus. Gaara managed to bury him deep in the ground, but Kimimaro escaped with his Dance of the Sowing Fern attack, bringing up a huge forest of bones 🦴sharp like steel. Gaara and Lee avoid getting impaled by creating a small cloud of sand to sit on and Kimimaro emerges to attempt to finish them both off. But at that moment, his illness finally killed him.
Kimimaro Edo Tensei
Kimimaro was later revived by Kabuto during theFourth Great Ninja War and became part of a group including Chiyo and Hanzō . With this team, he ended up joining the Surprise Attack Division, along with Deidara. Kimimaro and the others managed to send them into retreat and he pursued them, thinking of Orochimaru's chakra 🐍 that was now within him, strengthening his resolve to do as he was commanded.
As reinforcements of the enemy forces arrived, Kimimaro engaged in combat, managing to pierce the chakra-imbued blades of the shinobis, he killed a good number of them before Naruto's clone arrived, saying that things would be done differently from last time. Kimimaro noted that Naruto indeed looked different, before being hit by the Rasenshuriken attack. Continuing to fight, Kimimaro was sent back to the afterlife after Kabuto's Reincarnation of the Dead technique was deactivated.💀
Personality
Kimimaro is a calm and quiet individual interested in combat despite himself, seeing in his skills only a means of making himself useful . As a child, he did not want to hurt anyone and even loved flowers.🌸 Kimimaro works hard to accomplish everything assigned to him, having great loyalty to Orochimaru. He worships his master and believes that the only reason for his existence is to serve Orochimaru. Kimimaro doesn't like weak ninjas at all . He kills anyone he considers weak, even if they were his allies. He has a sense of honor and fair play in combat and rarely shows emotion, only doing so if his ideals are threatened or insulted. Kimimaro also had a habit of underestimating stronger opponents, doing so to Gaara several times during their fight.
Kimimaro Ability
Kimimaro is an extremely powerful fighter and his determination has allowed him to overcome his disease-ridden body, moving him even when it must have been physically impossible. Kimimaro primarily fights with his clan's kekkei genkai , Shikotsumyaku , which allows him to control his bone structure to fight. He can thus control the density of his skeleton and form bone weapons, which he uses with his great skill in taijutsu, a form of technique that uses martial arts. Kimimaro is blessed with great strength, speed, agility, durability and uses several dances🕺🏻, movements that combine his taijutsu and his Shikotsumyaku. Like the Camellia Dance, where Kimimaro generates a short bone sword.
Shikotsumyaku
This Kekkei Genkai allows you to modify the structure of your bones. Many techniques arise from this power:
- The Willow Dance: Kimimaro grows sharp blades anywhere on his body
- The Clematis Dance: Has two stages, the vine where it extends its spine and uses it as a whip, and the flower, where it forms a large bone weapon to strike its opponent
- The Larch Dance: Kimimaro grows sharp bone needles from his body

Like most of Orochimaru's close servants, Kimimaro placed a Cursed Seal to give him more power, the Earth Cursed Seal in his case, which is one of the strongest.
