Sasuke and Vegeta are the rivals and secondary heroes of their respective mangas, but who is the best rival, the best second in anime? 🔥

Every great manga and/or anime hero needs a rival; someone who supports them and elevates them to new heights, pushing them beyond limits to better excel and evolve. 💪🏻 Despite the fact that they often play second fiddle to their rival, no other character embodies the position of friend/rival as well as Vegeta from Dragon Ball and Sasuke from Naruto . These two characters transcend our shonen heroes and push them to surpass themselves.

Goku and Naruto wouldn't be as powerful as they are today without their respective Number 2s, as they are the only reason they worked so hard to become stronger in both series and their sequels. So the real question is which number 2 is the strongest and the best rival? Is it Vegeta or Sasuke? Find out below!

Strength: Vegeta

As Dragon Ball developed and moved towards Dragon Ball Z and Super, the level of strength shown reached levels of absurdity that even die-hard fans of the series could not expect original.

As of now, Vegeta and Goku both have powers that rival those of the Gods of Destruction💥, massively powerful beings who are about as complex as their descriptions imply. Even in the Namek and Frieza saga , Vegeta had the potential to destroy the world with the palm of his hands, even if he wasn't quite at the "one-finger" stage that Frieza was. Compared to the feats of strength we've seen so far in Naruto, there's no comparison.

Speed: Vegeta

This one is a little more difficult to pin down, because the respective speeds of Vegeta and Sasuke have varied enormously over the course of the Manga. This point should be given to the Saiyan Prince 👑 for the functionality of his powers.

While it can be argued that Sasuke is at least as fast as Naruto, who is as fast as lightning⚡, in the Dragon Ball Super manga, Vegeta recently learned the Instant Transmission Technique, which is, well, instant . If we speak in pure speed, the match is close but the point is narrowly awarded to Vegeta.

Resistance: Vegeta

Once again, Vegeta wins on his physical abilities. 💪🏻 His Saiyan armor aside, Vegeta has shown himself to be able to withstand a hail of blows, adamantly refusing to die against both Frieza and Perfect Cell. Although Sasuke is far from a fragile ninja , his resistance prowess is significantly less impressive.

Although he survived explosions that should have killed him, as well as the curse inflicted by Orochimaru 🐍 , his true strengths lie in his ninjutsu and Sharingan powers rather than his taijutsu and physical abilities.

Intelligence: Sasuke

When it comes to being a tactical fighter, Vegeta knows his way around. He had to be dragged to God's Palace after being destroyed by Cell, where Sasuke has shown time and time again that despite his high self-esteem, he is not suicidal when it comes to to fight. On several occasions, he even staged numerous tricks and feints in order to beat an enemy. Sasuke is an intelligent shinobi who knows how to fight lucidly.

Skills: Sasuke

Over the years, Sasuke has shown that his ninja skills are unmatched. He learned Chidori from Kakashi in his youth and developed it into a multitude of very unique jutsu, showing much more talent in the use of the jutsu than its creator ever did.⚡ He is also a great expert in the Dojutsu he possesses. Aside from his combat skills, he is also very good at stealth, espionage, camouflage, and handling various weapons.

Vegeta has a wide range of Ki-based abilities, but they are limited to escaping, Ki blasts, and the one time he tied up Goku using chains made of energy. There's also the fake Moon Power 🌑 he once used, which is largely useless now that no living Saiyan has a tail.

Allies: Vegeta

Even as a child, Sasuke insisted on working alone, to the point that Kakashi often pointed out to him that he was part of a team and that he should act like one. He is a lone ninja who advances alone in his objective. Although Vegeta started out in the same boat, he has changed over the years to be more accepting of people's help and is one of the greatest current fighters protecting Earth. 🌍

Sasuke, however, remained a lone wolf until adulthood. Although he hides in the shadows and offers Naruto help whenever he needs it, he still struggles with establishing personal relationships and working as a team. Sarada often blames him for his absence from home.

Equipment: Sasuke

The Dragon Ball universe has a wide range of useful equipment that characters use, from the different capsules that the Brief family possesses to the 🥬 senzu beans to the variety of training clothes worn, these are not the equipment that Vegeta lacks.

The problem is that he never uses them, and only takes senzu beans when forced or in desperate situations. Even his Saiyan armor is basically for show, as evenYajirobe was able to cut it. Sasuke, unlike Naruto, has used virtually every ninja tool and weapon in the series, and he is also very proficient in their use.🦸‍♂️ He is expert in the art of throwing shuriken , wielding swords, etc.

Victories from past battles: Sasuke

While Vegeta has imposing physical strength that he can rely on, his victories in the series are less. He failed to defeat a single person when he and Nappa invaded Earth, although he made up for it by killing almost all of Frizzer's henchmen , before falling to the boss himself. During the Cell arc, he only beat Android 19 before quickly becoming useless.🤖

While Sasuke has as many ties under his belt as wins, he did something Vegeta never did: he put his rival in a bind, more than once. In their final fight, Naruto and Sasuke couldn't decide between themselves, even though Sasuke thinks that Naruto is the best.🏆 While Vegeta has always been one step behind Goku, although this seems to change in the next chapters of the super Dragon Ball manga.

Best rival: Sasuke

Throughout Naruto's history, Sasuke and Naruto seem to be relatively compatible with each other, and neither is able to keep one step ahead of the other for very long. From their characters to their chakra natures, they are two complementary shinobi . It's this dynamic of constant rivalry that makes them such great rivals and allows them to push beyond their limits to reach even greater heights. 🔝

The rivalry between Vegeta and Goku has always been about Vegeta's pursuit of Goku's level , unable to accept that a low-born commoner could dominate him. There was only one time Vegeta was actually more powerful, after his time in the Spirit and Time Room ⏲ before the war, but that lead was quickly taken away not only by Goku, but also by Gohan.

Winner: Sasuke

It is the ninja of the Uchiha clan himself who comes from behind to achieve victory . Although he lacks physical strength, he more than makes up for it with his skills, intelligence and past victories.🏆

Vegeta is well on his way to proving that he has what it takes to win the crown, as is typical of his character to constantly chase after someone with more power, but as things stand , he is far from winning the “best number 2” prize! Even in the competition to see who is the best number, Vegeta ends up in second place.🥈
