Who is Madara Uchiha?

Madara Uchiha is a fictional antagonist of the Naruto anime series and manga, 📚 he is actually the greatest leader of the Uchiha clan as well as the co-founder of the Hidden Leaf Village, Konoha. After fighting Hashirama for the title of First Hokage, he is diagnosed dead , but eventually appears later in the series as Tobi. The founding of the hidden village of Konoha

Years later, the Uchiha clan continually clashed with the powerful Senju clan. ⚔️ To put an end to the incessant fighting, the leader of the Senju, Hashirama Senju, approached the Uchiha clan with a truce proposal . Although Madara did not desire peace with the Senju, his clan members desired a ceasefire, 🔥 and Madara had no choice but to accept their decision.

The Senju and Uchiha, along with all the clans they had conquered, then united to form the Hidden Leaf Village. Against Madara's wishes, the villagers chose to elect Hashirama as the first Hokage . 👑 While a Konoha ninja, Madara went to Iwagakure and spoke to a young man named Ōnoki accompanied by the Tsuchikage at the time and his guardian, where they were informed that despite the alliance that he had concluded with the Senju, his people 🚻 would remain subject to the power of the Senju.

Battle against Hashirama

Madara feared that Hashirama was oppressing the Uchiha people, and tried to rally the Uchiha clan to his cause in an attempt to challenge his leadership. However, instead of helping him, the Uchiha turned their backs on him , believing that his motives were only due to pride and the desire to gain more power. 💪 Abandoned by his clan, Madara left the village swearing revenge; after returning to challenge Hashirama to battle. They fought at the Valley of the End, and although Madara called upon the Kyubi , he was defeated by Hashirama and diagnosed as dead.

Despite his defeat during this battle, he managed to survive and obtain part of Hashirama's DNA , which he transplanted into his wounds. As he slowly approached a natural death, he suddenly woke up with the Rinnegan. He also acquired the Mokuton and now possessed the DNA of the Uchiha and Senju. Upon awakening these Dojutsu, he gained the ability to summon the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path, which he used as a catalyst to cultivate Hashirama Senju's cells. He later transplanted his Rinnegan into a boy named Nagato without him knowing, and then replaced his left eye with a new Sharingan. 👁️

Madara's personality

When Madara was just a child , he was considered kind, somewhat temperamental, and competitive . He was a sensitive shinobi who cared about both his family and others. Madara was very emotional and couldn't stand being made fun of. He also tended to have fits when Hashirama teased him, because he was incapable of ricocheting on the river. 🏞️

The very first time we met Madara Uchiha in the Manga, he was described as a power-hungry person 💣desiring revenge. He didn't procrastinate when he had to kill his friends or when he tried to recover the hidden village of Konoha. But according to Madara's words, his only goal was in reality to protect the members of the Uchiha Clan.

Throughout the Naruto saga, several ninjas have described Madara Uchiha's personality. When Itachi spoke to Sasuke about him, he told him that he was a dark Shinobi, 🌑 hungry for power. According to Kyubi, Madara would have chakra much smoother than his own. It seems that Madara represents the hatred and the dark side of the Naruto saga.

Madara Appearance

Madara Uchiha has a fairly fair complexion as well as black hair with a slightly bluish tint. Madara's Equipment

He also has a pair of gloves. 🧤 Within Madara's paraphernalia, there are several weapons that he is used to using, such as the Uchiha fan! A flashback 💡 of the anime allowed us to see in his lair , just before his death, other weapons such as several large Shurikens, but also a saber and chains . His equipment was borrowed by Tobi in order to ensure his victory against different ninjas.

The meeting between Madara and Obito

Madara lived for many years until the end of the Third Great Shinobi War. At the end of his life, Madara possessed a very weak body, and his only chance 🍀 to stay alive was to use the Outer Path Demon statue as a life support system. He therefore connected himself to the tree possessing Hashirama's genes, so that the statue could constantly provide Madara with chakra, in order to keep her alive and prevent her from instant death.

During this war, he found the young Obito Uchiha, and began a seemingly long healing process to save his life using Hashirama's stem cells. Madara then ordered the White Zetsu to keep Obito alive and help him rehabilitate himself, so that he could be useful to him when he awakens in the future. His 2nd Rinnegan also allowed him to create several invisible shadows using Rinbo - Hengoku.

Fourth Great Ninja War

Tobi prepares for the Fourth Great Ninja War against the Allied Shinobi Forces , aiming to capture the last two Jinchūriki and carry out his "Eye of the Moon" plan. 🌑 He is approached by Kabuto Yakushi , a former associate of Orochimaru, who offers to cooperate with the latter for this war. In order to force Tobi's consent, he resurrects several dead Akatsuki shinobi, followed by Madara Uchiha.

Kabuto began discussing his power with Madara, the leader of the Uchiha Clan , and therefore asked him for a quick overview of his gigantic power. Madara rushed straight into the battlefield and blasted a Katon with enormous range. 🔥

He and Mu appeared before Gaara's division, revealing that Tobi was not really Madara and quickly summarized the situation of his resurrection. 🧟‍♂️ He then spoke to Kabuto through Mu's body about his body's special modifications. Furthermore, Madara suspected that Kabuto knows his "fullness of life", which he claimed not to know.

After Gaara's attack, Madara quickly used his long-range Katon: which is countered by the Allied forces with the Suiton jutsu . 🌊 However, Madara took advantage of the cloud of smoke to attack the Alliance ninjas with his taijutsu, until Naruto tried to counterattack him with his Mega Swirling Orb. Unfortunately, his attack was stopped by Madara's defensive Susanoo who began attacking other shinobi using his swords. That's when Gaara grabbed Madara's arm and pulled out his Susanoo so Naruto could attack with his combined wind element technique: the Rasen Shuriken. 🌪️ Madara then used his Rinnegan to absorb the technique as if it were nothing.

Using the Rinnegan, Madara confirmed Kabuto's speculation that the Rinnegan was actually the evolution of the Sharingan . Madara threw a first meteorite and then a second onto the battlefield. After Onoki and Gaara stopped the first meteorite, the second fell on top of the other, causing a huge collision. 💥 Madara then asked Kabuto what he knew about him and he replied that he knew that after his defeat in the Valley of the End against Hashirama, he was not dead and that he had managed to recover part of Hashirama's cells. 🧬 Madara then tells him that he is right and asks him if he knows his plan, to which Kabuto answers yes, but that he doubts his colleague Tobi's intentions regarding the execution of Madara's plan.

Following this, Madara tried to summon Kurama, the Nine-Tailed Biju , even though he has not yet been captured! This summoning attempt led the Fox to recognize Madara's presence on the battlefield and unlocked all of his chakra 🕉️ to Naruto! Kurama hates Madara and much prefers to be on the side of the protagonist of the saga rather than on the side of the antagonist.

Kabuto tells Madara following a discussion that Naruto is the Kyubi's Jinchūriki. Following this discussion, the former head of the Uchiha clan used the Mokuton Jutsu in order to attack the Fourth Division . Naruto responded by using chakra borrowed from Kyubi to repel the Wood Element's attack. 🌳 After Naruto destroyed his technique, Madara approached the last survivors of the Division and encouraged them by trying out his new Jutsu abilities.

He then came into conflict with Onoki who was seriously injured. Madara says that Onoki is more dead than alive, and that despite his long life, he does not understand the pain of the world. But he must realize that it is useless to change humanity and that to choose, it is better to make it sleep 😴 with Mugen Tsukoyomi . When Mu and Madara attack, A and Tsunade appear, and push them back, while Mei appears with the Fourth Hokage's special guard using her teleportation jutsu. Tsunade asks Mei and A to cover for her to give her time to heal the Kage, Gaara and Onoki.

In order to cover her, the Mizukage used her Futon Jutsu (the art of using steam) . Madara dodged and was hit by Raikage A towards Mei's Futon. She then took the opportunity to launch another stream of Futon at him, forcing Madara to activate his Susano to protect himself. Madara broke away from the lava and congratulated the duo for their offensive qualities. Madara then attacked them with Yasaka's Magic Projectiles which was blocked by a combined effort from Gaara and Ōnoki. With Ōnoki healed, he mentioned that he has a plan, jumped to A and asked for help from Mei who used the Jutsu: Mists of the Tyrant, creating a fog 🌫️ in order to diminish and neutralize the Rinnegan's field of vision.

After which the Tsuchikage and Raikage went on the attack, Mu (through Kabuto's full control) thought that he will lighten A's weight ⚖️ like last time, as well as increase his speed. But it's a trap on the part of the Onoki duo and A! After knocking Mu out of the fight, Onoki significantly increased A's weight so that his strike would be devastating! This combination of the 2 Kage broke Susanô's defense.

As the battle continued, Madara was attacked by a golem created by Ōnoki which was destroyed by his mokuton. While the various Kage were lingering on the Mokuton , Madara ambushed them from behind with his Susanoo, with which he beat them, sending them waltzing into the immense forest he had just created. Rushing to finish off the different Kage, Madara launched a Katon Jutsu with the intention of charring the forest, 🌳 taking advantage of the fact that the Kage fell to the ground under the effect of the pollen. Fortunately for the Shinobi alliance, the Tsuchikage manages to get back up in time and destroy the surrounding flowers using his dust element technique.

In the attack, Hashirama Senju 's face is revealed on Madara's chest. As Madara regenerates his armor, he mentions that Tsunade is a descendant of his greatest enemy, and then clarifies the situation by specifying that he wishes to kill her ⚰️, not for strategy, but simply because she is a descendant of 'Hashirama. Stating that he was stronger than his grandfather, and that she was much weaker than him!

Tsunade mentioned that she had surpassed her grandfather in medical Ninjutsu , 🏥 because she did not need to perform seals with her hands in order to provide healing! That didn't stop Madara from specifying that he intended to kill her for her weakness! “Nothing is more mediocre than a weak Senju”! After learning of his new abilities, Madara felt invincible. In his senses, nothing and no one was able to oppose his power!

Tsunade responds by saying that while she did not inherit the Mokuton or its strength, she did inherit the Will of Fire . 🔥 Tsunade then punches Madara as he tells her that her belief in her country will not save her and that nothing is stronger than power. However, he still listened to his rhetoric regarding how the will of the deceased allowed him to create an ingenious medical system and at the same time, save a lot of Ninjas. After hearing the four rules and without recognizing Tsunade's forbidden technique, Madara uses his Susanô to protect himself from Tsunade, accepting that she is more talented than he believed!

When Madara counterattacked, Mei repelled the attack, then A and Tsunade knocked him to the ground. Crashing to the ground, he admitted on the spot that Tsunade was not that weak, but chastised her recklessness, as her death would harm those around her. He then says that if he had known the Kage would be so weak, he would have taught Hashirama how to be reborn. 🤱🏼 Madara began the discussion with the kage by stipulating that Hashirama's death left behind him not the village of Konoha but rather the power he had, just like Izuna who bequeathed his power via his sharingan to Madara. After Tsunade's quick reaction, Madara said that if anything could be conveyed, it was simply hatred.

Later, he is hit by a powerful blow from Tsunade which seemingly binds and seals him. But suddenly, one of his Susanoo's blades pierces Tsunade from below, and Madara appears again saying that a wooden clone has been sealed in his place. Madara, believing he is already done with the Sannin, begins to attack the other Kage. However, we see that Tsunade manages to regenerate with her technique by breaking the blade 🔪 of the Susanô with her strength. Madara quickly reacts by using his Yasaka Magic projectiles to hit the Hokage's body, seeing that after the attack she survived, he praises Tsunade for her technique, telling her that it is similar to the one used by her great -father.

After Tsunade mocked him for using a clone, Madara decided to make the fight more fun by spawning 25 clones. The 5 Kage present then found themselves facing five clones each. Madara asked them if they wanted to fight these clones with or without the Susanoo. Eventually, the Kage had to confront them with the Susanoo, which put them in greater difficulty. As the Kage began to waver, Ōnoki spoke to them to remotivate them. Madara then decided to stop the Tsuchikage and the fighting spirit 🥊 that he instilled in his comrades. He sent all his Susanoo against him. With his last reserves and the help of the Hokage, Ōnoki used his cube-shaped elemental dust, Jinton, to destroy all of Mokuton's Clones; while the Mizukage used the Kazekage's sand-supported Suiton: Watery Dragon element and the Raikage's lightning element to seal Madara.

At this point, the Uchiha remembered that his rivals have the title of Kage, and, to "reward" them and prove his superiority against the five Kages, he unleashed the perfect form of Susanoo. After invoking his Susanô, Madara proceeded to stabilize it by developing armor identical to that of a Samurai, the wavy blades became traditional katanas ⚔️. This susano is a representation of Tengu no Yamabushi .

Later, to the amazement of the Kage, Madara demonstrated the power of his Susanoo by destroying the mountains ⛰️ with a simple swing of his katanas. Madara clarified that only Hashirama is capable of defeating him. At this stage of power, Susanô possesses the power of a tailed beast and Madara relies on this formidable technique to crush the Kage and all forms of hope.

As the different Kage began to lose all hope, 🙏🏼 Madara's Susanoo began to gradually collapse along with the strength of its user, Madara Uchiha, due to the cancellation of the Endo Tensei by Itachi . However, just before disappearing, Madara tried one last time to weaken the kage group. He then rushed at Tsunade to kill her, but she was saved by her deceased husband, Dan.

Madara's soul was disappearing following the cancellation of Kabuto's technique. Madara took the opportunity to recover his body following the cancellation of the reincarnation of souls, 👻 which allows him to become free again under his "new" immortal body possessing a limitless source of chakra. At this precise moment, Madara was approaching the level of a god and decided to go on a hunt to capture Kurama but he was instantly stopped by Ōnoki.

Subsequently, Madara came to lend a hand to Obito Uchiha who faced Naruto, Killer Bee, Kakashi and Gai . Surprised to see the former Uchiha leader, Naruto asked him what happened to the Kage. Madara replied triumphantly that they certainly weren't doing very well. Naruto then threw the stakes 💈 that held Hachibi at him. For his part, Obito returned the War Fan to Madara who used it to ward off the attack with a Susanoo shield. Then, noticing the Mazô, Madara explained to Obito that he had been too hasty to launch the Moon Eyes plan, but that, despite this, he still had time to capture the two demons. Obito then informed him that Nagato had betrayed him and that it was not the latter who resurrected him with the Rinnegan's metempsychosis technique. It was at this moment that Naruto attacked Madara with his mini Tailed Demon Orb (Bijûdama) but he was blocked by the Uchiwagaeshi technique and the fan. Madara called upon Hashirama Senju's Dragon Wood jutsu to create a gigantic dragon that drained Kurama's chakra. The latter then lost his Tailed Beast mode. With the resurrection of Jūbi, the Ten-Tailed Beast , Madara was ready to carry out the final phase of his plan. Once placed on the creature's head, Madara and Obito then connected to Jūbi in order to control it. If, for his part, Obito immediately wanted to launch the Infinite Tsukuyoimi, Madara first wanted to see what Jūbi was capable of. He then attacked Kurama and Hachibi who were severely injured 🤕 and had to retreat because Jûbi was stronger in every way.

Naruto used the Tiger Mudrâ 🐅 to initiate multi-cloning. For his part, Madara attacked him with a Jûbi laser after calling him weak. Thanks to the intervention of Ino and a member of the Yamanaka clan, the shot was deflected. The Shinobi Alliance then landed on the battlefield and began to attack the antagonists. Once Jûbi was more mature, Madara then attacked the Alliance headquarters to put an end to the mastermind of their adversaries. With Obito, they killed Neji Hyûga , which caused Naruto to despair. Subsequently, thanks to the help provided by Guy who broke Madara's body with a kick, 🦶🏼 Naruto managed to attack Obito with a Rasen Shuriken. They were then able to break the bond that united Madara and Obito to Jûbi. While Madara's body was reconstituting itself, he was forced to leave Bijû's head and fell to the ground. It was then in the Final Arc that Madara was stabbed by Zetsu in the back and died.

Madara's Techniques

Jutsu

• Katon - Gouka Mekkyaku ( Infernal Destruction ):

  Madara blows a powerful jet of fire! 🔥

• Kuchiyose no jutsu ( Summoning Technique ):

  Madara is able to summon Kurama , the Bijû with nine tails 🦊 and to wield him using his powerful sharingan.

• Mokuton - Juukai Koutan ( Lush Growth of the Forest ):

  Madara can also use Senju's Hereditary Jutsu. Using this technique, he is able to grow a forest in the snap of his fingers! 🌳 It is both an offensive and defensive technique.

• Yasaka Magatama :

  Using his Susanoo 👺 Madara can use the Yasaka Magatama Jutsu. These are tomoe-shaped projectiles , they act similarly to a shuriken when thrown by Susano – spinning rapidly towards the intended target – and cause an explosion on impact. 💥 The size of these projectiles depends on the user . Although it is not the most powerful technique of Madara's Susanoo, it is nevertheless difficult to counter!

• Mokuton - Kourin Kajukai ( Advent of a Flowering Tree World ):

  Jutsu originally belonging to Hashirama Senju. With this ability, Madara is able to grow both trees and large poisonous flowers . 🌳🍄🌻 This Jutsu is a variation of Juukai Koutan.

• Katon - Kouka Messhitsu ( Great Blazing Destruction ):

  Madara breathes a very powerful flame capable of disintegrating both his enemies and the nature surrounding him!

• Mokuton - Taijû Mokuton Bunshin no Jutsu ( multicloning Mokuton above ):

  Ability allowing its user to make very resistant Mokuton clones ! 🌱 They would also be more powerful than clones created using Multicloning.

Rinnegan

• Gakidô ( Fû Jutsu Kyuin , specific to the Rinnegan):

  Gakido is capable of absorbing chakras in any form. This technique has no limits, it is also capable of absorbing the most powerful Jutsu in this world such as Naruto's Rasen-Shuriken Futon. 🌪️ Considered a defensive ability since it negates any type of Chakra-based Jutsu in all directions.

• Meteorite Technique (Rinnegan specific):

  This Jutsu has the ability to attract huge asteroids orbiting the planet onto the battlefield. 🪐 It seems that this technique is an evolved form of Nagato's Chibaku Tensei . Madara Uchiha has the possibility if he wishes to divert two meteorites of gigantic size. However, it is best to avoid this Jutsu in order to avoid committing suicide 💥 with it. If Madara uses it on the battlefield, it is because he was not afraid of dying, seeing as he had an immortal body thanks to his reincarnation using the Edo Tensei. It is therefore a technique to be avoided for a classic shinobi unless he also wants to commit suicide!

Sharingan

• Genjutsu :

  Madara Uchiha also has a genjutsu allowing him to block his enemy's movements for several seconds. ⌛

• Susanoo :

  Although the Susanoo of the two Uchiha brothers, Sasuke and Itachi, have a similar appearance, Madara's Susano is quite different . 👺 Knowing that his physical appearance is not the only characteristic that sets them apart, the raw power of Madara's Susano also seems to be on another level. According to Madara, his susano would have a strength equivalent to that of a Bijû , 🦊 and would be the incarnation of destruction. Its final form is comparable to a giant humanoid possessing armor resembling that of a samurai. Madara's Susano also has 4 arms, 🦾 including two sabers. It is important to note that a single blow of a saber is capable of destroying several mountains.
