One of the strongest clans in the entire Naruto series, the Uchiha clan is gifted with the Sharingan . It is considered one of the three most powerful visual jutsus, the other two being the Byakugan and the Rinnegan. 👁
What started as a cool gimmick for copying jutsus and playing staring games with an opponent quickly turned into the center stage for the rest of the Naruto Shippuden saga.
The Evolution of the Sharingan
This is partly due to his evolution in the series. Without going into much of the detailed history of the Uchiha clan, we'll look at what made the Sharingan and its subsequent transformations , probably one of the most powerful transformations in the anime world. 👹
Before we begin, I want to clarify that birthing an Uchiha does not automatically grant them the sharingan.👶🏻 It only manifests in certain individuals, and even then, that individual must experience intense emotional trauma .
The Sharingan offers two basic abilities. Her two main abilities are the Eye of Insight and the Eye of Hypnotism.
the Eye of Insight
The Eye of Insight grants the user incredible clarity🔍, allowing them to see people's chakra, predict an opponent's movements, and even copy their jutsu by seeing the enemy perform their mudras .👏🏻 This technique is not perfect, however.
This pupil cannot see chakra to the extent that the Byakugan can, and it doesn't matter if the user can predict where their enemy is going to hit them if they can't react quickly enough to block or dodge.
And although this pupil allows most jutsus to be copied, if the user cannot execute another clan's Kekkei Genkai , or use a chakra nature change that they do not possess, they will not be able to copy the jutsu.❌
The Eye of Hypnotism
The Eye of Hypnotism allows the user to cast powerful genjutsu on their opponents, and in some cases even allows them to fully control them. It was with this eye that Madara and Sasuke, among others, were able to control a tailed demon.🦊 In most cases, however, the user must make eye contact with their opponent, with only a handful of users being able to perform this genjutsu without making eye contact.
The Sharingan evolves into the Mangekyo Sharingan once the user witnesses the loss of someone very close to them and experiences emotional trauma. According to Tobirama , the source of Uchiha's power is sorrow born from love. ❤ Being an evolution of the Sharingan, the Mangekyô Sharingan possesses incredible power that only a few can match. Sharingan of Izuna Uchiha
Izuna Uchiha was one of Madara's four brothers and a valiant shinobi. Along with his older brother, he was the first person to awaken the Mangekyo Sharingan of the Uchiha clan. His ward's exact abilities are unknown, but they made him strong enough to lead the clan with Madara.
At a very young age, he defeated countless shinobi of the Senju clan, but succumbed after receiving a fatal wound from Tobirama's sword. ⚔ Izuna's Mangekyo abilities were never revealed, but they were probably as impressive as him.
Danzo Shimura's Sharingan
Danzo was one of Konoha's most deceitful ninjas, and was tasked with handling the village's dirty affairs behind the scenes. In order to gain power to keep the village safe, Danzo stole countless Sharingan , including Shisui's Mangekyo Sharingan.
Using this pupil, he could cast the all-powerful genjutsu calledKotoamtsukami which allowed him to manipulate anyone without them even realizing what was happening. Coupled with several other Sharingan that gave him the ability to spam Izanagi and Hashirama's cells, Danzo was truly a threat.💀 Unfortunately for him, he was not at Sasuke Uchiha's level.
Sharingan of Shin Uchiha
Shin Uchiha was a synthetic human created by Orochimaru.🐍 After gaining information about the Uchiha clan, especially Itachi, he decided to kill Sasuke Uchiha and restore the clan.
Shin had awakened the Mangekyo Sharingan through unknown means, but doing so caused him to suffer emotional trauma. His Mangekyo Sharingan allows him to manipulate weapons telekinetically . Thanks to a body made of Hashirama cells, he avoided the side effects of the Mangekyo Sharingan. He was able to hold his own against Sasuke Uchiha and Naruto Uzumaki to some extent, which shows how strong he truly was. 🦾
Sharingan of Shisui Uchiha
Shisui Uchiha was famous for his excellent skills as a jonin of Konoha . He awakened his Mangekyo Sharingan during the Third Great Ninja War, and through it, gained the ability to cast a powerful genjutsu known as Kotoamtsukami.
Shisui's visual prowess allowed him to cast a genjutsu so strong that he could manipulate people without them realizing what had happened. He also possesses the Susanoo.👺 He was such a powerful shinobi that very few ninja could defeat him.
Sharingan of Itachi Uchiha
Itachi was the son of Fugaku Uchiha and the older brother of Sasuke. A pacifist since childhood, Itachi never wanted bloodshed and sought power to become the Hokage and create peace .
Unfortunately, nothing went as planned. After seeing Shisui commit suicide, Itachi's Sharingan evolved into a Mangekyo. His abilities were incredibly diverse. In his left eye, Itachi had the Amaterasu which allowed him to incinerate everything.🔥 His right eye possessed the Tsukuyomi, which was a powerful genjutsu that could manipulate space and time . Thanks to his Mangekyo Sharingan, Itachi was almost invincible.
Sharingan of Indra Otsutsuki
Hagoromo's first son, Indra Otsutsuki, was a prodigy who excelled at everything. 🏆 He inherited his father's Sharingan. Indra has also awakened the Mangekyo Sharingan, although, much like Madara's Eye, its abilities are unknown.
In the anime, Indra is shown to be able to use Amaterasu . Indra, however, possessed the ability to use the full Susanoo without even unlocking the Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan , which is a huge feat in itself. He was strong enough to match Ashura in combat, making him one of the strongest Mangekyo Sharingan users in the entire series.👁
Sharingan of Obito Uchiha
Obito Uchiha: His Sharingan manifested itself very late in history. After seeing Kakashi kill Rin, he awakened the Mangekyo Sharingan in his left eye. Obito's Mangekyo ability, known as Kamui, allowed him to transport parts of his body to a different dimension, making him appearintangible.👻
He could also carry those he touched with him, and over the years he had practiced this art to perfection. As the Ten-Tails Jinchūriki , Obito lost the ability to use the Mangekyo Sharingan, otherwise he would have been invincible.
Sharingan of Madara Uchiha
Madara was the first Uchiha, along with Izuna, to obtain the Mangekyo Sharingan. After years of training, he gained enormous power which he put to use against Hashirama Senju.🪓 Due to Hashirama's astronomical strength, Madara sought more power , and after his brother's death, he took his eyes to gain the Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan.
Using his abilities, Madara gained the ability to use the full Susanoo. Interestingly, Madara's Sharingan abilities were never revealed to us, although he was the first to awaken it.👀
Kakashi Hattake's Sharingan
Also known as the Copycat Ninja , Kakashi Hatake was one of the most renowned shinobi in the Naruto series.🍃 Although not an Uchiha, his use of the Mangekyo Sharingan was admirable and even garnered praise of Itachi.
Kakashi received the Sharingan from Obito Uchiha, to learn more, watchWhy does Kakashi have the Sharingan? Much like Obito, he possessed the power to use Kamui , but his variant allowed him to distort things from a distance. 🔍 When also allowed access to Obito's other eye, Kakashi became strong enough to fight Kaguya Otsutsuki making him one of the strongest characters in the entire series.
Sharingan of Sasuke Uchiha
Sasuke awakened the Sharingan during his first mission to Tenchi Bridge. After killing his brother Itachi, Sasuke unlocked the Mangekyo Sharingan and its powerful abilities.
Using his left eye, Sasuke could use Amaterasu. 🔥 He also awakened the Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan after transplanting Itachi's eyes and could thus manifest the complete Susanoo . Eventually, Sasuke's left eye became a Rinnegan with six Tomoe.
